Privacy & Personal Data Protection

Scope

This policy applies to personal information processed through EastArc Publishing and JESHS registration, manuscript submission, editorial correspondence and contact forms.

Information we process

Depending on the workflow, this may include name, email, telephone, affiliation and position, country, ORCID, account details, author and reviewer metadata, submitted files, editorial correspondence and technical access information.

Purposes

Information is used to administer accounts, manage submission and peer review, communicate with authors, prepare publication metadata, meet ethics and record-keeping obligations, maintain security and respond to applicable legal requirements.

Sharing and service providers

Information is shared only where necessary with authorised editors, reviewers and technical service providers involved in the publishing process. Confidential manuscripts are not made public. Personal information is not sold for advertising purposes unless disclosure is required by law.

Retention and security

Records are retained for as long as reasonably necessary for editorial, archival, legal and scholarly-record purposes. EastArc Publishing uses appropriate technical and organisational safeguards, although no internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely risk-free.

Your rights

Subject to applicable law, users may request access to or correction of their personal information and, where appropriate, deletion or restriction of processing. Scholarly-record integrity, contractual and legal obligations may require certain records to be retained.
